Your Everyday Office Apps in Microsoft 365 Business
As the global workforce becomes increasingly agile, data-driven, and distributed, new tools and technologies are transforming the ways we connect, share, and collaborate. - Doug Morrison, Microsoft 365 and Office 365 Strategic head, Braintree
The concept of “working from home” was, prior to 2020, quite a foreign one. Then again, words like “social distancing” or “lockdown” weren’t part of our daily vocab either, but fast forward to 2021 and our world is drastically different to that of the not-so-distant past.
Thankfully, many businesses have discovered new and innovative ways to thrive despite the restrictions imposed. So much so that even once these restrictions had eased, many opted to continue working from home, in turn seeing higher dividends, increased productivity and improved morale.
However, without the correct software and programs, none of this would have been possible. Ease of access, user compatibility and simplicity were all fundamental aspects in businesses choosing their preferred method of remote working. Needless to say, it doesn’t come more convenient than Microsoft 365 Business.
What is it and how does it help me?
It can be hard to keep track of all your files and software. Usually, this is done on physical servers on-site, but translating these remotely can be a challenge. However, Microsoft’s file storage and sharing products have been designed for exactly this purpose- save, share, access and update your files wherever you are. In fact, Microsoft 365 is constantly evolving, as both security and depth of functionality improves weekly.
With OneDrive, your files are always with you. Save, protect and access them on your device of choice whenever you need it. Load shedding or Wi-Fi issues? No worries, edits save automatically whenever you’re back on. You can also share your files to other users and track edit history via SharePoint, letting you keep everyone on the same page both inside and outside your organisation. You can co-author or update changes seamlessly, doing so across multiple devices if required.
And, of course, where would we be without Teams and Outlook? Manage your emails, schedule your calendar, host or join meetings, even engage in group discussions with your team- all the benefits of working in an office without any health risks.
In the words of our Microsoft Office expert, Doug Morrison, the reality is that yesterday’s security models with layered perimeter defenses are simply no longer relevant in an always-on world with myriad devices and access points. With many choices, products and approaches, it can be hard to navigate the best path forward. However, we always recommend assessing total exposure, and with its emphasis on collaboration, transparency, safety and usability, it’s safe to say that Microsoft Office is ideal for adapting your business to a brave new world.
